Born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, Nyayongah Gony was made to be in the spotlight. Her family immigrated to the United States from South Sudan in the late 90s, and Nyayongah grew up close with her four siblings. Nyayongah was a top basketball recruit out of high school, and has played collegiately for the University of Miami, Mississippi State University, and is now a member of the University of Texas at San Antonio women’s basketball team. However, Nyayongah always dreamed of being on television or on stage, not the court. She loves keeping up with fashion, traveling to experience different walks of life than her own, listening to music, and everything related to the Marvel Universe. Growing up tall was not always easy for Nyayongah, as she struggled with being the tallest in the room and receiving attention for it. What she once wished away, she is now grateful for. Nyayongah loves being a tall woman and has embraced the beauty of standing out. She is proud of her exceptional height and the integral part it plays in who she is today.
